Sort food for neighbors in need
What is it all about?
Nearly one million individuals experience food insecurity in Arizona. Nationwide, 40% of food is thrown away every year and 1.7 million tons in Arizona alone. SVdP’s Food Reclamation Center processes 3.37 million pounds of donated food annually, where no good food goes to waste. Food is delivered to neighbors in need throughout Arizona by 81 community-based food pantries in over 100,000 food boxes – it’s “Love in a Box!” This facility is equal parts process engineering and community compassion.
